Rare Early SQUAW VALLEY SKI RESORT 9.5 Restaurant Dinner Plate Native American
Extremely rare Early SQUAW VALLEY SKI RESORT 9 1/2 Restaurant Dinner Plate with the blue background. Rare design and rare size as very few remain. Minor use marks and one chip in the back of 1 3/8 but no other chips, nicks, dings or fleabites. An exceptional larger sized plate. Marked on the back Tepco China USA. The Kennedy’s frequented the restaurant in the 1960’s. Additionally, it was host site to the 1960’s Olympics. About the Resort and Restaurant. During this period, the hotel was frequented by members of the Kennedy family including John F. And his brother Robert. Author Scott Lankford claims that John F. Used the lodge to carry on an “endless series of extramarital affairs with wealthy divorcees and Tahoe’s notoriously ubiquitous prostitutes”. The lodge served as accommodation during the 1960 Winter Olympics, held at nearby Squaw Valley Ski Resort. First visited Cal Neva in 1951; his trip made the national press as he overdosed on sleeping pills and this was reported to the local sheriff. Sinatra publicly bought the resort in 1960 through his company, Park Lake Enterprises. He decided to open the property year-round; it had only previously opened for the summer season. Sinatra built the Celebrity Room theater and installed a helicopter pad on the roof. Era smuggling tunnels beneath the property to allow mob members to move around the property without being seen by the public. The Sinatra period saw extravagant parties and visits by celebrities such as. The development project was originally estimated to take at least a year and was sought to restore the Cal Neva’s original 6,000-square-foot gaming floor, complete with a full slot machine display and the return of table games. The project was initially planned to finish by December 2014, but reopening was delayed multiple times due to difficulties with construction and financing. A fine addition to any home or collection! RARE Homer Laughlin SEVILLE PATTERN Set (3) The Club Room RESTAURANT PLATES
This is a great Set of (3) 8 1/8″ Heavy Restaurant Places from Homer Laughlin in their Seville Line and on the front are great graphics of a man in four places and it reads “The Club Room. One of the plates has a colored square on part of the back – not sure what that signifies. The man reminds me of an old cartoon character. I have never seen these before and were in a box for years and year. They are all in good pre-owned condition with no chips or cracks.

COLOR: Ivory White with Blue and Gold Top Mark, Orange and Black Pinstripes. DIMENSIONS: Diameter: 3-1/2 Inch, Height: 1/2-Inch. MANUFACTURING DATE RANGE: Circa 1910’s to 1940’s. MATERIAL: Vitrified Porcelain China COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Unknown DESCRIPTION: For sale is a SET OF FOUR (4) vintage ROYAL SUPERIOR QUALITY advertising butter pats. These small plates are made of medium gauge restaurant ware quality vitrified porcelain china with a high gloss ivory white glaze. They decorated underglaze with an applied decal top mark featuring a laurel of two golden wheat stalks surrounding a scepter with blue flames with the word “Royal” in blue letters outlined in black. Below this, under glaze, is a blue ink stamp with the words “Superior Quality”. There are orange and black pinstripes around the rim. The company associated with this top mark logo is unknown but may have been associated with a flour brand located in Canada or the United States. These butter pats are approximately 3-1/2 inches in diameter and 1/2-inches tall. These pieces have no manufacture mark. CONDITION: These vintage pieces are in very good to excellent used condition. The glaze is bright and shiny. There are very light to moderate use marks on the glaze. On two, the use and utensil marks are moderate. An example of the moderate use marks can be seen in the last photograph. On one there is a small chip on the bottom foot, but it is underglaze and was manufactured this way. It is not easily noticed. This is shown in photograph 10. There are no post manufacture defects such as nicks, chips, cracks, crazing, hairlines, or repairs. Individual Butter Pat Plate.

Rare vintage set of 12 heavy duty restaurant ware dinner plates by Jackson China out of Falls Creek, Pennsylvania. This particular pattern is named “Crest”, and was featured on the front page of the 1968 Jackson China catalog. Plates each measure 10.375 in diameter. They are in good overall condition with no chips, cracks or paint wear. The gold gilding that is on the center of the plates has a lot of fine scratching. I have taken a photo of the worst plate held against lighting. Looking straight on at the plates the flaws are not as noticeable. Please see photos for details.
