OPENING YEAR (1926) PLATE AND CREAMER OF THE BISMARCK HOTEL IN CHICAGO! This vintage oval restaurant plate is in very nice condition, having some normal utensil marks, but no chips or cracks. The creamer has almost identical label on the bottom, and although it is not dated, it appears to be from the same period and the plate. The Bismarck Hotel opened in 1926 after the previous one, built in the 1890’s, was torn down to make way for this enchanting new hotel. This luxury hotel represented the best of the city of Chicago, just as the Book Cadillac Hotel did the same for Detroit. The plate and creamer were furnished by Albert Pick & Co. The plate dimensions are about 8 1/4″ x 5 3/4″. Please see photos carefully as to condition. The postcard views of the hotel are not part of the sale.
