AHWAHNEE HOTEL CHINA: Four (4) c offee mugs manufactured by the Sterling China Co in Wellsville, Ohio exclusively for the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park. The Pattern is terra-cotta and black on a white background, based on a California Indian basket pattern known as “Three-Legged Indian”. These are 8 ounce and measure 3 1/2″ high and 3 1/4″ top diameter. The Sterling China date codes U3 and U4 stamped on the bottom indicate these coffee mugs were produced during. This China is in like new, unused condition. No scratches, cracks, or damage. It has never been used or washed. The glaze is in like new condition. The Ahwahnee Hotel has been using dishes with this pattern since the hotel opened in 1927. The Sterling China Co went out of business in 2004.
