This very rare vintage set of four. Salad plates are from the famous New York City celebrity going restaurant, The “21” Club. They were made for The “21” Club by Shenango in the United States. Each plate measures 8 inches across the rim. All of the plates were used in the restaurant so they have wear to the glaze on the eating area of the plates in the form of scratches from flatware used by diners in the restaurant. I put a strong light over one of the plates to make the scratches show up better for the photograph. These plates don’t have any cracks or chips on them and the “21” design and the design of Jockey’s holding the gates open is not scratched up or worn away.
